The person who is most known for having their sex tape leaked online and having a reality TV show was recently seen accepting a physical Bitcoin on her Instagram story.
Kim Kardashian participated in the first annual “If Only” Texas Hold’Em Charity Poker Tournament, to raise money for City of Hope cancer research charity. Amongst the guests was Bloq co-founder Matthew Roszak, an entrepreneur and investor, who is evidently involved in the cryptocurrency world. Roszak took it upon himself to give Kim her very first Bitcoin, making her one of the largest social media stars to come into contact with and to accept a Bitcoin.
The co-founder of Bloq tweeted, shortly after, about giving Kim her first Bitcoin, also mentioning KardashianCoin and YeezyCoin, hinting at the possibility of the Kardashians looking at creating their own coin. In a recent TEDx talk that Roszak did, he stated that “every brand can tokenize their economy” and also mentioned the Kardashians, in the same context. The gifting of a physical Bitcoin to Kim Kardashian could be the next step towards a KardashianCoin becoming a thing.
Kim Kardashian posted to her Instagram story, quickly after receiving the physical Bitcoin, that “we moved onto bitcoin” with an image of the coin she was given.
Kim’s acceptance of her first physical Bitcoin could be a sign that the Kardashian’s are looking into using cryptocurrencies and possibly buying them, and this will certainly be a starting point for them if they weren’t already. As well as this, the post on her story allows cryptocurrencies to be exposed to millions of people who may not have known what they were, helping to lead to mass-adoption.
Many other notable people are also involved in cryptocurrencies, whether they're reputable or not, such as John McAfee.
